How We Do It

Whatever we do, we try to do it the best it can possibly be. This is why we have a string of awards from counsumer and trade bodies to our name. The last of them are the DTI Interforum awards for Best use of broadband and Best use of teleworking.

The DTI awards - which encourage excellence in internet and telecom technologies - affirm Gradwell's leading position in the sector. "It could be said that the systems we have developed, and the way we reliably implement them on behalf of our growing number of customers, put us perhaps six years ahead of our UK competitors," commented Peter Gradwell, founder and Managing Director.

We built our services from the ground-up, and canvassed the opinion of our customers so that all components act seamlessly. Self-management by customers is available via the web: for example, for our VoIP services, they can easily divert to mobiles by logging-on to the Gradwell website. Input the instruction, and it's done.

We did well in the Teleworking category because customers benefit from our team's efficient procedures, 24/7. They are good enough to enable the team to work from different UK locations, rather than one central base.

This allows the team members to lead the kind of home life they want, an aspect of the positive Gradwell approach that, ultimately, helps us go the extra mile for customers.

We achieve the industry standard - the so-called 4-9s, ie: 99.99% - with great regularity. Downtime is almost non-existent, thanks to the systems we have and the clusters of servers we have built. Currently, there are 14 servers for our e-mail system, in 3 locations. Any glitches are acknowledged immediately on our website; we also send a note via text message, and emails are sent out explaining the situation to customers in real time. Overall, we take a very pro-active and open approach in servicing our 3,000+ customers.

That is why the word of mouth has been the cornerstone of our growth in the last six years. Our customers are our best sales people.
